1 Bedroom flat
(£11,922 per square metre)
Oh my, why wasn’t I clever enough to try and buy somewhere in the Barbican when I first moved here in 1997. No one wanted to live here. Well, I guess they do now.
For sale is a great example of a ‘Type 20’ flat. A Type 20 layout has a bedroom at the back (you’ll now be looking at the new Heron Tower from this window, originally it would have looked onto Milton Court, which was sadly demolished in 2007), the kitchen is in the centre of the flat, with a hatch to the dining area. The living room is at the front, looking over Speed Garden, an a sliding door to a separate study on the right. The reverse of these flats (Type 21) are flipped — so essentially have two bedrooms but no study.
Pretty much all the original features are in tact, view the listing with The Modern House here.
